Qoder

Qoder CLI

Qoder CLI is Qoder's terminal-native coding agent for macOS, Linux and Windows Terminal on arm64 or amd64, excluding Windows on Arm. The `qodercli` TUI combines dialogue, direct Bash and slash-command modes with Grep, Read, Write and Bash tools, session resume, context compaction, configurable reasoning effort, subagents and background tasks. Non-interactive Print Mode emits text, JSON or streaming JSON for scripts and CI, while tool allowlists, denylists, maximum turns and permission settings control execution. Git worktree mode isolates parallel repository sessions, and AGENTS.md files provide user, project and local memory. Qoder Action brings reviews and @qoder assistance to GitHub Issues and pull requests. Cloud Mode launches independent Qoder-managed VM Sessions that continue after the local terminal closes. The Qoder Agent SDK exposes the same file, search, command and streaming Agent capabilities to TypeScript and Python applications.

Editorial verdict

Best for

Developers and platform teams that want one coding agent across interactive terminals, headless scripts, GitHub workflows, isolated worktrees, cloud Sessions and embedded SDK integrations.

Avoid if

Avoid unattended rollout before defining tool permissions, secret storage, credit limits, auto-update policy, branch protection and review requirements for generated changes.

Why it matters

Qoder CLI has its own cross-platform installer, terminal interface, headless contract, memory, GitHub automation, Cloud Mode and SDKs, so it warrants a dedicated profile separate from Qoder Desktop and Cloud Agents.

Pricing

Uses Qoder account plans and credits: Community free; Pro $20/month, Pro+ $60/month and Ultra $200/month

Commercial use

Commercial use should follow the current product, API, model license and billing terms.

Privacy

Review prompt, file, media upload, retention and training-use terms before sensitive workloads.

Use-case fit

Interactive terminal engineering

Strong

Use TUI dialogue, Bash, slash commands, subagents and background tasks for repository exploration, implementation, testing and review.

Headless CI and scripting

Strong

Run Print Mode with structured output, bounded turns and explicit tool lists inside scripts and delivery pipelines.

Parallel Git worktrees

Strong

Start independent named worktrees so multiple CLI sessions can work on one repository without sharing a working directory.

GitHub review automation

Strong

Use Qoder Action for automatic pull-request reviews and @qoder comments that explain code, suggest implementations or prepare fixes.

Embedded Agent SDK

Strong

Embed streaming file, search, edit and command-capable Agents into Node.js or Python tools with PAT authentication.

Global user checklist

RegistrationConfirmedCLI requires Qoder authentication through browser login, pasted PAT or QODER_PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN for automation.
English UIConfirmedThe product page, TUI documentation, automation guides and SDK references are English-facing.
API and docsConfirmedOfficial docs cover Print Mode, structured output, Cloud Mode and TypeScript/Python Agent SDKs; this is Agent automation rather than a raw model API.
International paymentPartialCLI uses Qoder plans and credits, but feature-specific consumption varies; current account usage and promotions should be checked before automation.
Commercial usePartialBusiness and CI use is supported, but generated changes, GitHub App permissions and SDK redistribution or service terms require review.
Data and privacy termsReviewCLI can read and write repositories, run shell commands, persist memory files, access GitHub and launch cloud Sessions; scope tools, secrets and remote authorization carefully.

Checked on June 21, 2026. Recheck CLI versions, Windows on Arm support, installer scripts, auto-update behavior, SDK packages, GitHub Action permissions, Cloud Mode dependencies, models and credit rates before rollout.

Pros

  • - Interactive TUI and non-interactive text, JSON and stream-JSON modes cover local and automated workflows
  • - Tool allowlists, denylists, maximum turns and permission settings make execution boundaries explicit
  • - Git worktree sessions isolate parallel changes against the same repository
  • - AGENTS.md memory supports user, shared project and private local project instructions
  • - Qoder Action adds automated pull-request review and @qoder Issue/PR assistance on GitHub runners
  • - Cloud Mode and TypeScript/Python SDKs extend the same Agent into remote tasks, scripts and applications

Cons

  • - The --yolo option skips permission checks and should not be used on untrusted repositories or inputs
  • - Automatic CLI upgrades are enabled by default, which can change behavior unless explicitly disabled
  • - Cloud Mode cannot read uncommitted local changes because it operates against the authorized remote GitHub repository
  • - Qoder Action and SDK automation require PAT and repository-secret governance
  • - Windows on Arm is not currently supported
  • - Vendor-reported 60% fewer manual steps, 2x faster delivery and 70% automated repetitive fixes need independent validation
