MiniMax
MiniMax Agent was upgraded on May 27, 2026 and renamed Mavis, short for MiniMax as a Jarvis. Its Agent Teams let a leader split complex work among parallel role-based agents, keep long tasks running in the background, report checkpoints, invoke independent verification, retry failed work and retain lessons as memory or Skills. The design targets coding harnesses, parallel research, asynchronous messaging workflows and pipeline-style office-document delivery. MiniMax also merged Agent Plan and Token Plan: one subscription shares credits across Agent, CLI and API use, including M2.7 plus music, video and voice services. The desktop app was already released when the article was published; the article said the latest Agent implementation would be open-sourced with MiniMax M3, so current source availability still needs verification.
Editorial verdict
Teams delegating long-running coding, research and document workflows that benefit from parallel roles and independent verification.
Avoid Agent Teams for short deterministic work, or when shared credits, background permissions, auditability and human approval gates are not yet understood.
Mavis is a productized multi-agent runtime with background execution, verification and recoverable state, rather than only a general chat assistant.
Unified MiniMax Token Plan; current tier prices and Agent credit consumption should be checked in account
MiniMax Token Plan, Shared Agent and API credits, Free access where available
Review product terms before using outputs in business workflows.
Review memory, file upload and account data terms before using it as a persistent work assistant.
Split work among leader, developer, tester and reviewer roles, with branches, diffs, rerunnable checks and human acceptance for risky actions.
Run independent research channels, then have verifier and synthesizer roles check sources and merge conclusions.
Separate planning, writing, formatting and evaluation so reports, spreadsheets and PDFs produce checkable intermediate artifacts.
Keep the leader responsive in chat while background workers execute tasks lasting minutes or hours and report status changes.

The API platform gives explicit model, key and billing control.
